Perfect in Every Way!

The trip to Winter Park was wonderful ... due in large part to the great accomodations at Hi Country Haus, and the service provided by the Winter Park Lodging Company. The on-line reservation process was easy, and the communication from the staff (before, during and after my stay) was excellent. The unit was spacious, immaculate, centrally located and stocked for every possible need. I highly recommend this condo, and I'm sure anything handled through Winter Park Lodging Company will be just as nice. The only bad part was ending a perfect weekend!

Very nice condo. Nicely updated throughout. The kitchen was great! 1903 is right on the Fraser River. We had the patio door and the bedroom window open all the time to let the sound of the water in. Plenty of everything. Wish there was more than one bathroom. Otherwise it was perfect.
It was perfect for 4 of us!

We had a great experience with Winter Park Lodging Company. Communication was prompt, easy to understand, and complete. The staff was accessible and friendly via voice and email. The $10 coupon book saved us $150 per day in lift tickets--absolutely AMAZING! Unit 1903 was very nice, esp for an older property. It was clean, the neighbors were quiet, the kitchen had everything we needed and it was a nice size for a family of 4. The only issue whatsoever was that the twin mattresses in the 2nd bedroom (kids) were well worn, soft, and the kids said they were uncomfortable. If not for that, it is definitely a 5 star property. We will definitely be back!

Nice condo and a great ski experience at Winter Park. This unit has been updated with the highest quality furnishings and appliances. Lower ceilings and not much of a view but a good clean comforable value. The fireplace was the highlight of the place and we used it each evening, quickly becaming couch potatoes after skiing Mary Jane for two days and the back bowls of Copper Mtn on Friday. I found the restaurant choices very limited in Winter Park, so we headed to the safeway that is about 3 miles away, we stocked up on pasta and snacks that we prepared at the condo. There were plenty of cooking items, large pots, fry pans and all very clean. We did not take the shuttle to the mountain, we used the paid parking that was within 200 ft of the WP base village and it was worth the price. The new village at the monntain is very nice and we enjoyed the many new cafe's and apres ski beer joints. I thought the condo was a good value. The boys with me thought the single beds were too soft, my king bed was fine. There seem to be a lot of specials on lift tickets but you've got to lock that in prior to making the trip. We wanted flexibility to ski other mountains but we paid a steep price. WP is a great moutain with terrain for all abilities. If you are a beginner you can take Village Way for what seemed like a three mile cruise. It was my son and nephew's first time to the west and they had an excellent experience.
Manager's Response:
Next time, try Tabernash Tavern and/or Devil's Thumb Ranch for two excellent restaurants in the area. Ask us if you need directions or reservations. Happy to help.
We had a nice enough time.

We were not told that the hot tub and pool were 1/4 mile from our condo. we did not have a car and it snowed the entire time, which was good for skiing but not good for getting to and from the hot tub. We did not find the shuttle service to be reliable after 5:30pm.
Manager's Response:
Thank you for taking the time to review the property. We will be clearer in the future about the short walk to the hot tub. For shuttle service after 5:30, you have to call the Lift (number is in the guidebook in the condo and on the frig) and they will come get you anytime in the evening and pick you up as well. Hope to see you again next year!
Nice Property

The property was nice. The unit is listed as 1 and 1/2 baths. The 1/2 bath is a mirror and lavatory only. I must have missed it or not asked for a definition of 1/2 bath. The heating unit took several days to regulate. It was either to hot or cold then finally worked out on the third day. The public bus system is not the best in the world. They don't always stop at the bus stop unless you are waving your arms to flag them down. Then if you need to stop you hade better request it in advance.

Great condo in a great location. Perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples. We enjoyed the fireplace and the spaciousness of the living area and kitchen. We will definitely try to get this unit again.
Terrific Way to Start 2009!

We had a wonderful stay here, and are looking forward to making it an annual tradition. We arrived a little early but were allowed to check in, and were greeted by the owners of Winter Park Lodging by Owner, who were super friendly and brought us a goody bag and all sorts of information. The condo is in excellent condition, incredibly cozy and cute, and was well-stocked for our stay. The owners of the condo did the renovations, and everything is nice and new - kitchen and bathroom especially. The fireplace is great! We never made it to the clubhouse, because we were enjoying nights by the fire too much. The ski shuttle to Winter Park is literally 15 steps outside the door, runs every 1/2 hour, and takes you to the base (heads-up, the shuttle stop is still a bit of a walk from the actual base, but that's WP's fault, not the condo). It was always full, but never too bad, and saves you a chunk of change on parking, which is $20/day. In addition, we used WPLBO's offers on discounts for ski rentals and Transfour passes - which they had even when other websites had sold out. We saved a lot of money through them, and were really happy with the gear and our passes. Driving into town is easy; everything's within 5 minutes' drive, and there are great places to eat. Smokin' Moe's and Hernando's are fab, though call ahead for Hernando's and still expect to wait. Avoid Carlos and Maria's - bad food, bad atmosphere. There's a booklet from WPLBO that gave us the inside scoop on tons of restaurants and other activities, which was really helpful. Overall, a great management company and a terrific condo. Would absolutely recommend this place and am looking forward to my next stay!

A wonderful 2 bedroom condo, beautifully remodelled and updated. Within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops, and a shuttle bus stop right outside the door. We didn't take advantage of the clubhouse (we were a bit tired from all the great skiing) but it appeared to be a nice amenity as well. The staff at WPLBO went out of their way to help us on more than one occaision. If we come back to Winter Park, we will definately be booking through them again.

I would highly recommend this very comfortable refurbished condo with furniture made from Aspen wood if you like that style. I spent more time than usual in the condo as I had broken my collar-bone ski-ing at Vail prior to coming to W.P. The condo was warm, very well equipped, spotlessly clean and a pleasure to spend time at while my husband was ski-ing. There was an adequate supply of logs on the decking for the fire which was well used. If we return to W.P. we would certainly consider this condo again.
Winter Park Condo

This was a great place for our family of four to stay during our week vacation of skiing at Winter Park. (If you had more than four people it might be a little crowded.) The ground-floor unit was beautifully remodeled and very clean. The kitchen was great with granite counter tops. There were several hooks to hang up damp ski clothes as you entered the unit. The unit has only one bathroom, but we were able to work it out without too much trouble. There is a sink and mirror in the second bedroom which helped. The river runs behind the unit and it is very pretty during the winter season. We did not try the bus service to the slopes as a full bus load of kids were also staying in the same building and it would have been too crowded on the bus. (We were concerned when we saw the bus load of kids arrive, but they were very well chaperoned and we hardly knew they were staying in the same building. No loud partying or banging around upstairs.) We arrived at the slopes early, before they opened, so parking was never a problem. There were many restaurants close by and the grocery store was only a few miles away. We enjoyed our stay and have already made plans to stay here during spring break in 2009.
